The 14th annual Motor City Tennis Classic, sponsored by the Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance, took place June 9-11 at the Franklin Athletic Club in Southfield hosting over 130 players of all ages. The Motor City Tennis Classic is a GLTA tournament that welcomes everyone to play, as long as they believe in diversity and the spirit of fair play in sport. "We have a reputation as a super friendly tournament," says Tim Ross, tournament director. "Everyone always has a great time and we change the perception of Detroit one player at a time."

They were able to raise donations for not only the Ruth Ellis Center, a center for homeless youth in Highland Park Michigan, the Clark Park Coalition, which is a non-profit group serving Southwest Detroit’s Hispanic community, and for the Midwest Tennis and Education Foundation! We say a huge Thank you!!!!
